What a whirlwind first few weeks it's been for our new team members, Pam Sanford-Scutt, Operations & Membership Manager, and Donna Davies, Communications & Brand Manager. Getting up to speed with the world of FM was made even more fun with a fact-finding mission to some of our much-loved iconic Auckland institutions. Highlights included behind-the-scenes tours of Auckland Art Gallery, Spark Arena, Colliers, BNZ Tower, Cushman & Wakefield and Auckland Airport’s commercial property portfolio. Auckland Zoo was the icing on the cake – a chance to get a unique perspective on the intricacies of managing both the public spaces and those of the animals. Special thanks to hosts Steve Simpson and Andrew Potter - Colliers, Logan Cudby - Bank of New Zealand, Richard Boyter - Tātaki Auckland Unlimited, Matt Milligan CFMANZ - Spark Arena, Paul Huggins CFMANZ, John Hutchings and Hannah Welsby - Cushman & Wakefield, and Niki Walker - Auckland Zoo. Your enthusiasm was infectious! Full story: https://lnkd.in/gEAP_iUJ #Facilitiesmanagement #FMANZ #FMANZAuckland #Newteammembers

This time last week, our Auckland members had the opportunity to peek behind the curtain at the Reclaim recycling facilities. The tour was such a hit that we quickly arranged a second session to meet the demand. Witnessing the journey of our recycling post-collection was truly enlightening. Established in 1974, Reclaim underscored the urgent need for educational strategies within our buildings. Facility managers have a unique opportunity to subtly educate building occupants about responsible waste disposal. The experience was a sobering reality check for many, highlighting that there's always room for improvement in our waste management practices. A huge thank you to the Reclaim team— Nathalia Gonzales, Samantha Samania, and Bruce Ireland —for opening their doors to us, and to Hannah Welsby from our Auckland committee for spearheading this initiative. Special thanks also to Steve Simpson (Chair), Karl Beaufort, Steve Paulson, Louise Ridley, and Gemma Seddon for their support on the Auckland Committee. #FMANZ #FacilitiesManagement #FMANZAuckland #ReClaimRecyclingTour #WasteManagementInsights
